Blackbook designs portals where the structure carries the complexity: you find what you need without knowing the whole system. We use AI to stress-test the information architecture early – scenarios for different user types, before the structure is locked in. ## Complexity is not an excuse ### Web portal design, information architecture and self-service Portals often collect everything no other channel can hold: documentation, self-service, professional content, tools. The danger is that the portal ends up as an archive. We design from the tasks instead of the content – what do users come to do? The answer determines navigation, search and hierarchy. The rest is discipline: consistent patterns, clear entry points and a design that guides rather than impresses. ## Many users, one system The hardest portals serve several audiences at once – professionals and laypeople, internal and external, first-timers and veterans.
