Web accessibility isn't about passing a test – it's about everyone being able to use what we build. Blackbook designs accessible websites where contrast ratios, target sizes and navigation are design decisions from day one – not last-minute patches.
AI accelerates the accessibility work – automated contrast audits, alt-text drafts and keyboard navigation testing – so the requirements are met without the design losing its edge.
Accessibility is design quality – not a checklist
Web accessibility, WCAG 2.2 and contrast ratios in practice
WCAG 2.2 is concrete: text needs a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, touch targets must be at least 24×24 pixels, and everything has to work with a keyboard. We translate the requirements into design decisions – colour palettes that pass contrast checks, buttons that hit on mobile, and focus states you can actually see.
Good accessibility can't be patched on afterwards with an overlay. That's why we build it into the design system from the start – in the typography, the colours and the components – so it holds every time new content goes live.
The law sets the bar – the design decides the experience
With the European Accessibility Act, web accessibility is no longer optional for large parts of the web. We hold ourselves to the same standard: blackbook.dk scores 96–100 in Lighthouse accessibility across all main pages – because standards should be shown, not just promised.
What we deliver: WCAG 2.2 audit & report · Contrast & typography review · Accessible UI design & design systems · Keyboard & screen reader testing · Alt texts & semantic markup · Accessibility documentation
A conviction – long before it became law
Usability and contrast ratios have been a conviction at Blackbook long before the EAA made them law. The brands we've built for – from banks and telcos to global design brands – could compromise on neither expression nor usability. That balance is exactly what accessible design is about.
Should your website work for everyone – and be able to prove it? Let's talk about your project.
